Lake WA Construction Home Remodel General Contractors Blog
This one was kind of the front of the house makeover, this particular customer wanted a bay window with a seat to brighten up the living room but also give the home a little more curb appeal. We enlarged her front porch and added a new hand rail, and also framed in this seated bay window. This was a early 1900's home in Seattle so it had to be custom built. You can purchase assembled bay windows fully assembled but that would not work in this application. We ordered double pain insulated tempered glass panels, (code required Tempered for any windows with a seat or low to the ground) then we set them in so it looked like the windows in the rest of the house. Then we sidded and trimmed it inside and out and painted. The guys did a great job of making this look like an original part of the house.
